As a Vice President in US Tax Operations within the India Tax Operations team, you will oversee teams in Mumbai and Bangalore responsible for cost basis updates, US withholding tax processing, tax form maintenance, and year-end reporting. You will champion process transformation, resilience, and integration across upstream and downstream functions, leveraging technology to drive efficiency. Your leadership will ensure operational excellence and compliance while supporting new business initiatives and fostering a positive global culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver a risk-focused control agenda for all Tax Operations functions in Mumbai and Bangalore.
- Manage internal and external business reviews, ensuring timely resolution of breaks and claims.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Operations and Business Unit stakeholders.
- Provide end-to-end support for new business initiatives and cross-business Tax Operations projects.
- Lead and develop internal teams, offering training, mentorship, and guidance to foster professional growth.
- Champion firm-wide and cross-functional Tax Operations optimization initiatives, ensuring alignment with F2B programming.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and regulators, ensuring compliance with annual programs and regional securities laws.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 15 years of experience managing and leading high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in financial securities, US tax, MS Excel, and IA tools such as Alteryx, Python, and Pro Plus.
- Expert-level spoken and written communication skills, with strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Deep expertise in Tax Operations within the US tax jurisdiction and the ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities
- MBA or other advanced degree in business or a related field.
- Experience in project management or business development.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Skilled in executive-level presentations and comfortable engaging with senior clients and business desks.
